ANAHEIM, CA - The Los Angeles Angels are striving to clinch the series win against the Boston Red Sox, who are visiting. The Angels have gained some momentum over the past six games, winning five of them, as they kicked off their first home series of the season. Boston defeated the Angels 12-2 behind a great starting performance by Tanner Houck.

Boston has played ten consecutive away games since the start of the season. Before the game, Manager Alex Cora emphasized the importance of winning this series and returning to Boston for their home opener against Baltimore on Tuesday.

The Red Sox quickly took control of the game by hitting three solo home runs in the top of the 3rd inning. David Hamilton hit the first home run of the inning, followed by Rafael Devers and Tyler O'Neill, who hit back-to-back home runs. Devers hit his first homer of the year and is the only remaining star player on this team.

Tanner Houck has started his second game of the season and has been impressive so far. He pitched six strong and scoreless innings, striking out seven Angels and only walking two. He threw 99 pitches in total. In two starts this season, Houck has recorded 17 strikeouts.

In this game, the Angels were unable to score any runs, while the Red Sox managed to score four in the top of the 6th inning. Reese McGuire from Boston hit a three-run blast over the right field wall, allowing the team to take a commanding 7-0 lead over the Angels.

Despite the electric atmosphere at Angel Stadium for a Sunday afternoon game, most of the fans present were not rooting for the home team. There were a lot of Red Sox supporters in the stadium, eagerly watching the action.

Although losing Shohei Ohtani during the winter was a big setback for the Angels, they were able to add a new manager, Ron Washington, who brought a fresh perspective and style of play to the team.

The Angels stumbled in their first two games of the season, but have since picked up their performance. Unfortunately, Anthony Rendon has had a tough start to the season, as he was hitless in his first 20 at-bats and started with a batting average of only .074. However, he did manage to get a double to center field in the 4th inning of their recent game, going 1 for 4.

In the bottom of the 8th inning, Mike Trout hit his third home run of the season to left field and scored a run for the Angels. Although Trout's batting average is currently .233, with only three runs batted in, the Angels are confident that his productivity will increase as the season progresses.

Silseth, the Angels' pitcher, delivered a strong performance, pitching for five innings and only giving up three runs, which all came as solo shots in the third inning. He also added seven strikeouts on 91 pitches. However, it wasn't Silseth who allowed the Red Sox to take control of the game, it was relief pitcher Jose Cisnero. Cisnero came in to replace Silseth but was only able to get through one hitter before giving up a three-run home run to McGuire.
