Clippers rout OKC Thunder 138-88 in the final game of the season

4/10/22 LOS ANGELES, CA - Amir Coffey scored a career-high 35-points as the Los Angeles Clippers (42-40) knocked off the Oklahoma City Thunder (24-58) at the Crypto.com Arena 138-88 to advance to the Play-In Round of the NBA Playoffs.

Luke Kennard had 20-points, Brandon Boston Jr. with 18-points, Xavier Moon had 17-points, Ivica Zubac and Isaiah Hartenstein both had 12-points and Terrance Mann with 10-points.

Georgios Kalaitzakis and Zavier Simpson were the leading scorers for OKC, both with 17-points, followed by Vit Krejci and Isaiah Roby, both with 16-points.

The Clippers head coach Tyronn Lue rested his starters Paul George, Reggie Jackson, Marcus Morris Sr., Nicolas Batum, and Norman Powell, and was very pleased with the way they played.

"We did a good job of playing the right way on both sides of the basketball," Clippers coach Tyronn Lue said. "The bench was strong with 34 assists, moving bodies, and that's what we wanted to see going into the play-in game."

Luke Kennard made a three-pointer and a jump shot that gave the Clippers a 9-6 lead. The Clippers increased their lead to 12-6 with a three-pointer by Robert Covington.

Amir Coffey would knock down a three-point shot making the score 15-8. Kennard would knock down another three-pointer to give the Clippers a 24-8 lead forcing OKC to call a timeout.

OKC Trail 24-11 after a three-pointer by Isaiah Roby. Coffey gave the Clippers a 31-15 lead with his three-pointer.

The Clippers led 33-18 with a basket by Isaiah Hartenstein. The Clippers led at the end of the quarter, 39-18.

Brandon Boston Jr. came into the game and made a three-pointer to give the Clippers a 41-18 lead. OKC trail 45-29 with a basket by Robey with 8:13 left before halftime.

Ivica Zubac went up with a left-hand power dunk making the score 55-34, and the Clippers fans went crazy.

Covington and Mann would make back-to-back three-pointers giving the Clippers a 61-34 lead with 3:47 left in the first half. OKC trail 63-36 with a jump shot by Zavier Simpson.

The Thunder was trailing 66-48 after a made basket and free throw by Jaylen Hoard. The Clippers led at halftime 66-51.

Kennard led the Clippers in scoring in the first half with 13-points, followed by Zubac, Boston Jr., and Coffey, all three with 10-points. The leading scorer for OKC was Roby with 16-points, Simpson with 13-points, and Vit Krejci with 10-points.

OKC trail 84-57 in the third quarter with a layup by Hoard. The Clippers struggled in the third quarter, while OKC was hanging around trailing 84-63. Xavier Moon made a jump shot to give the Clippers a 95-67 lead at the end of the third quarter.

The Clippers led 97-67 in the fourth quarter with a layup by Hartenstein. Coffey would drive to the basket for a reverse layup, and followed by his three-pointer gave the Clippers a 104-69 lead with 9:55 left in the game.

Coffey continued his scoring, with back-to-back jump shots making the score 112-75. Moon would make another jump shot giving the Clippers a 116-75 lead.

Georgios Kalaitzakis, with his step-back three-pointer, had OKC trailing the Clippers 118-80 with 5:50 left in the game.

The Clippers went on a 20-8 run to close out the fourth quarter to beat OKC 138-88 and will travel to play the Minnesota Timberwolves in the Play-In Game on Tuesday.
