LOS ANGELES, CA - The Dodgers are giving their young pitchers a chance to prove they belong on the post-season roster, and Emmet Sheehan pitched 4.2 innings, one run, and had nine strikeouts, leaving the game with a no-hitter to his credit.

Sheenan has proven he can strike out right and left-handed batters, which is a big plus for the Dodgers during the playoffs when his slider and changeup are working for him the way they were against the Giants.

"He was fantastic tonight," said Dodgers manager Dave Roberts. "I thought from pitch one, the conviction, the fastball had true life to it. All the secondaries, the slider, the changeup down below. … He pitched a heck of a ballgame."

Kyle Harrison pitched 5.1 innings and gave up three hits, two runs, and one home run.

The Dodgers led 2-0 after Chris Taylor scored from third base with a sacrifice fly ball to right field by Kike Hernandez and in the bottom of the fourth inning, a solo home run by J.D. Hernandez over the right field wall.

The Giants trail 2-1 in the top of the fifth inning after the Dodgers Sheehan loaded the bases and walked Tyler Fitzgerald, and Mike Yastrzemski came home to score.

Joc Pederson tied the game 2-2 for the Giants in the top of the sixth inning with a monster solo home run over the center field wall.

The Dodgers regained the lead 3-2 in the bottom of the sixth inning after Will Smith made it to third base on his fly ball to right field, and dropped by the Giants center fielder Fitzgerald, and J.D. Martinez hit a sacrifice fly ball that allowed him to come home to score.

The Dodgers would lead 5-2 in the bottom of the seventh inning, with a wild pitch by Luke Jackson, and James Outman and Chris Taylor scored.

The Giants trailed 7-2 in the bottom of the eighth inning after Martinez hit a single to center field, and Freddie Freeman scored, and Taylor singled to left field, and Max Muncy scored the final run.
