Josh Jacobs' 2 TDs helped the Raiders beat Broncos 32-23
LAS VEGAS, NV - Josh Jacobs had a career day carrying the football 28 times for 144-yards and two touchdowns to help the Las Vegas Raiders (1-3) beat Russell Wilson and the Denver Broncos (2-2) at Allegiant Stadium 32-23.
Derek Carr completed 12 of 34 passes for 188-yards, Davante Adams had nine catches for 101-yards, and the Raiders' head coach Josh McDaniels stuck with the running game, which paid off in the end.
I asked Carr a few games ago about how the Raiders decide when the game is on the line, do they stick with the passing game or the run game in the video below?
The Raiders led in the first quarter 3-0 after Daniel Carlson kicked a 26-yard field goal. The Broncos would take the lead 7-3 when Russell Wilson threw a 5-yard touchdown pass to Courtland Sutton.
Josh Jacobs gave the Raiders a 10-7 lead in the second quarter with his 10-yard touchdown run. Denver would tie the game 10-10 with a 28-yard field goal by Brandon McManus.
The Raiders' defense got into the scoring when cornerback Amik Robinson picked a fumble by the Broncos' running back and ran it back for a 68-yard touchdown making the score 16-10 in favor of Las Vegas.
Denver would tie the game again 16-16 after Wilson threw a 20-yard touchdown pass to Jerry Jeudy. The Raiders would lead 19-16 at halftime when Carlson made a 39-field goal.
The Raiders led in the third quarter, 22-16 after Carlson kicked a 22-yard field goal.
Denver trailed the Raiders in the fourth quarter 25-16 after Carlson kicked a 30-yard field goal.
Wilson would cut the Raiders' lead down to two points, 25-23 after he ran in for a 3-yard touchdown.
Jacobs would ice the game for the Raiders with his 7-yard touchdown run that made the final score 32-23 and gave head coach Josh McDaniel his first win of the season, and in the AFC West.
Russell completed 17 of 25 passes for 237-yards and two touchdowns. Las Vegas' next game will be in Kansas City to take on the Chiefs.
