Paul George and the Clippers come from behind to beat the Jazz 121-115

LOS ANGELES, CA - Paul George, back in the starting lineup, scored 34-points and six assists to help the Los Angeles Clippers (37-39) come from behind twenty-five points to beat the Utah Jazz (45-31) 121-115 at the Crypto.com Arena.

"It's a big morale boost," Clippers coach Tyronn Lue said. "Guys were getting worn down and tired. We needed that."

Donavan Mitchell scored 33-points to lead the Jazz in scoring, Mike Conley with 19-points, and Jordan Clarkson with 17-points.

The other top scorers for the Clippers were Reggie Jackson with 21-points, Luke Kennard with 17-points, and Isaiah Hartenstein with 14-points.

George has not played since December 2 while rehabbing his right elbow with a torn ulnar collateral ligament was eager and ready to go.

The Jazz led in the first quarter 3-0 after a three-point shot by Juancho Hernangomez. Reggie Jackson would make a layup that made the score 3-2. Utah was leading 11-4 with a layup by Rudy Gobert.

George looked rusty after missing two layups. The Clippers trail 23-11 after a dunk by Donovan Mitchell. Jackson would make a jump shot that made the score 28-14.

The Jazz led at the end of the first quarter 32-14 with a buzzer-beater three-point shot by Mike Conley.

Paul George never looked like he was in any pain on the court after making a three-pointer that had the Clippers down 35-17 in the second quarter.

''I feel good,'' he said. ''There's no pain.''

The Clippers trail the Jazz in the second quarter, 42-23, with a three-pointer by Conley. Robert Covington was able to dribble-drive for a layup, making the score 44-30.

Covington would make a three-pointer, and the Clippers trailed 47-35 with 6:18 left in the first half. Nicolas Batum made the score 52-38 with his three-point jump shot.

Luke Kennard made a three-point shot, and the Clippers were trailing by ten points, 53-43, with 3:44 left in the first half.

The Clippers trail the Jazz at halftime, 61-48, with a three-pointer by Jackson. Kennard and Goerge led the Clippers in scoring in the first half, both with 9-points, followed by Jackson with 8-points.

Comley and Mitchell led the Jazz with 12-points and Jordan Clarkson with 9-points.

The Clippers trail by twenty-four points in the third quarter, 74-50, with a three-point jump shot by Hernangomez. George would make a step-back jump shot that made the score 77-56.

The Jazz led 82-60 after another basket by Hernangomez with 5:05 left in the third quarter.

George would drive thru the paint for a layup making the score 85-68. Rudy Gay's three-pointer gave Utah a twenty-point lead, 90-70.

George would make another three-point shot that made the score 92-76 with 1:00 minute left in the third quarter. George was fouled on his layup and made his free throw that had the Clippers trailing 82-94 at the end of the third quarter.

The Clippers trail the Jazz 105-97 in the fourth quarter with a three-pointer by Jackson with 6:50 left in the game. George would make a step-back jump shot that made the score 109-102.

Jackson would make a jump shot that had the Clippers down by one point, 109-108, with 3:53 left on the clock. The Clippers got their first lead of the game, 110-109, with a jump shot in the paint by Isaiah Hartenstein.

Clarkson drove thru the lane and made a floater that gave the lead back to Jazz 113-112.

With 1:14 left in the game, the Clippers regained the lead 114-113 with a layup by George. Kennard would knock down a three-point shot to give the Clippers a 117-115.

Jackson would shoot and make one technical free throw, and George made one free throw at the end of the game to help the Clippers secure the come-from-behind 121-115 victory over the Jazz.
