LOS ANGELES, CA - The Chicago White Sox (30-39) rallied from behind and scored in the top of the eighth and ninth inning to beat the Los Angeles Dodgers (38-30) at Dodgers Stadium 8-4 to end a three-game losing streak.

Clayton Kershaw, with a 2.95 ERA, did not have his best stuff pitching 6.0 innings and gave up six hits, two runs, and five strikeouts, but the relief pitching continues to be a problem for the Dodgers this season.

"Very deflating. It's very deflating," said Dodgers manager Dave Roberts, who was clearly upset by the team's bullpen performance this season. "Clayton pitched his ass off even though he didn't have a whole lot as far as stuff. … We took a lead and we gave it away."

The White Sox starting pitcher Mike Clevinger had the Dodgers batters handcuffed before going down in pain with his throwing arm, pitched 4.2 innings, and had five strikeouts.

Jake Burger gave the Chicago Cubs a 1-0 lead in the top of the second inning with a solo home run over center field. Kershaw loaded the bases with two outs and got out of the game when Tim Anderson grounded out for the last out.

The White Sox increased their lead to 2-0 after Luis Robert Jr. hit a solo home run over left field.

The Dodgers were in striking distance in the bottom of the third inning with Austin Barners on first base and Miguel Vargas on third base with no outs, but Clevenger pitched himself out of the jam.

Kershaw was back in a jam in the top of the sixth inning with runners on first and second base for the White Sox but was able to get out of the inning with some clutch pitching and defense by the infield.

The Dodgers would trail 2-1 in the bottom of the second inning with a throwing error by Clint Fraizer in right field that allowed David Peralta to come home to score.

Aaron Bummer would load the bases for the Dodgers with no outs. The Dodgers tied the game 2-2 in the bottom of the sixth inning when Austin Barnes was safe on a fielders choice, and Chris Taylor scored.

Mookie Betts would hit a single deep into right field to give the Dodgers a 4-2 lead when Jason Heyward and Miguel Vargas scored.

Yency Almonte (RHP), with a 6.75 ERA, came into the game in the top of the seventh inning and retired the top of the lineup for the White Sox with just ten pitches. Yency would pitch in the eighth inning and open the inning with a double.

Moments later, Chicago would tie the game 4-4 in the top of the eighth inning when Burger homered again with a two-run home run over left field and brought Eloy Jimenez across home plate.

Alex Vesia (LHP), with a 7.02 ERA, replaced Yency and threw a pitch that hit Benintendi, advancing him to first base.

The White Sox would retake the lead 5-4 after Clint Fraizer hit a sharp single to center field, and Andrew Benintendi scored. After that run, Brusdar Graterol replaced Alex Vesia and got the last two outs of the inning.

"It's very frustrating, and they have to do better," Roberts said of the bullpen giving up another lead. "It's not workload. It's not the wrong lanes or the right lanes, it's they need to be better, period.

Tayler Scott, with a 10.13 ERA, would replace Graterol, and the White Sox would strike again in the top of the ninth inning to lead 6-4 with a line-drive by Jimenez to center field, and Andrew Vaughn scored.

Chicago would add two more runs to end the game 8-4 when Benintendi singled to right field, and Luis Robert Jr. and Romy Gonzales scored.
