The Clippers play great defense in the second half to beat the Warriors 119-104

LOS ANGELES, CA - The Los Angeles Clippers (29-30) beat the second-best team in the NBA, the Golden State Warriors (42-16), at the Crypto.com Arena 119-104.

Terrance Mann led the Clippers in scoring with 25-points, Reggie Jackson 19-points, Ivica Zubac 18-points, Nicolas Batum 14-points, Marcus Morris Sr., and Robert Covington, both with 11-points.

It was one of the best games the Clippers played, shooting 56% from the floor and their defense in the second half was the biggest reason for their win tonight.

"I thought this was one of our most complete games of the season even with Steph getting off to the start he had," Clippers coach Tyronn Lue said. "We kept them out of transition. When you're scoring, you can stay out of transition most of the time."

Terrance Mann gave the Clippers a 4-2 lead with a jump shot at the start of the game. Marcus Morris Sr. made a three-pointer, and a jump shot by Mann had the Clippers leading 9-2.

The Warriors trailed 11-9 when Jonathan Kuminga made a pull-up jump shot. Morris Sr. made a jump shot that gave the Clippers a 16-12 lead in the first quarter.

The Clippers led 18-14 with a dunk by Ivica Zubac. The Warriors would trail 18-17 after Andrew Wiggins made a jump shot.

Stephen Curry would make a three-pointer that gave the Warriors a 20-18 lead. Nicolas Batum tied the game 23-23 with his jump shot. Reggie Jackson would make a three-pointer to give the Clippers a 31-26 lead.

The Warriors were down by two points, 34-32, when Wiggins made a three-point shot. Damion Lee made a three-pointer that put the Warriors back in front 35-34.

The Clippers trailed 37-34 when the Warriors' Nemanja Bjelica made a jump shot. The Warriors led 39-34 in the second quarter when Klay Thompson made a bank shot. Isaiah Hartenstein made a reverse layup that had the Clippers down 39-37.

The Clippers regained the lead 42-41 with a three-pointer by Robert Covington. The Warriors retook the lead 43-42 when Otto Porter Jr. pull-up for a jump shot.

The Clippers call a time-out after trailing 48-42 after Curry made a three-pointer with 7:42 left in the second quarter. Covington made two free throws that made the score 48-44.

The Warriors pushed their lead up 54-46 with a jump shot by Porter. Batum and Hartenstein made back-to-back three-pointers had the Clippers trailing by two points, 54-52.

The Clippers tied the game 54-54 with a jump shot by Batum with 4:55 left before halftime. Mann would make a free throw to give the Clippers a one-point lead, 55-54.

Ivica Zubac's drop-step for a layup was foul on the made shot missed the free throw making the score 57-54.

Mann would make a running floater had the Clippers leading 59-54. The Warriors trail at halftime 61-59 after a three-pointer by Curry.

The Clippers led 69-61 with a dunk by Jackson in the third quarter. Batum would make a jump shot that gave the Clippers a 78-65 lead.

The Warriors trail the Clippers at the end of the third quarter 94-78 after a pull-up jump shot by Jordan Poole.

Amir Coffey, in the fourth quarter, three-pointer had the Clippers leading 100-81. Moses Moody had the Warriors trailing 107-89 with his three-point basket.

Brandon Boston Jr.s step-back jumper made the score 114-89. The Clippers beat the Warriors 119-104 for the first time this season.

Stephen Curry had 33-points, Andrew Wiggins and Jordan Poole both with 13-points, and Klay Thompson struggled shooting making 3 of 14 shots with 7-points.
