The Nationals come from behind to beat the Dodgers 8-3
LOS ANGELES, CA - Mitch White (1-2) pitched six innings, gave up nine hits and two runs, and struck out four as the Nationals came from behind to beat the Dodgers again 8-3.
Josh Gray, the starting pitcher for the Nationals, pitched five innings while giving up five hits, three runs, and two home runs, and struck out six.
The Nationals led in the first inning 1-0 after Victor Robles scored after Josh Bell grounded out to Max Muncy at third base. The Dodgers trailed 2-0 when Yaidel Hernandez singled to left field and Cesar Hernandez.
Mookie Betts hit a solo home, his 23rd of the season, and had the Dodgers down by one run, 2-1, in the bottom of the first inning.
Trea Turner doubled to left field in the bottom of the third inning with one out, but the Dodgers left him stranded, unable to bring him home.
The play of the game in the top of the fifth inning, when Victor Robles was at second base, trying to score on a single by Bell. was thrown out at home by Betts.
Cody Bellinger tied the game 2-2 in the bottom of the fifth inning with a solo home run over the right-field fence.

Things started not to go right for the Dodgers in the top of the eighth inning when Luis Garcia hit a two-run home run over the right-field fence to give the Nationals a 4-3 lead.
In the top of the ninth inning, the Nationals went to work. Bell hit a sacrifice fly ball to center field, and Lane Thomas came home to make the score 5-3.
The bleeding for the Dodgers didn't stop there as Nelson Cruz hit a double to center-field, and Victor Robles and Juan Soto scored to give the Nationals a 7-3 lead.
Keibert Ruiz would single in the final run to right field, and Cruz would score to help give the Nationals an 8-3 come-from-behind victory over the Dodgers.
