Tyler Anderson and the Dodgers take the second game against the Mets 6-1

LOS ANGELES, CA - The Los Angeles Dodgers (35-17) took the second game of the series from the New York Mets 6-1 with a strong pitching performance by starting pitcher Tyler Anderson (7-0, LHP), who pitched six innings, gave up only three hits, and had five strikeouts.
"I'm just trying to keep executing my pitches and keep us in ballgames," Anderson said.
The Mets starting pitcher Chris Bassett (4-3, RHP), who also pitched six innings, gave up five hits, and four runs to the Dodgers.
The Dodgers took a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the second inning when Cody Bellinger hit a two-run home run over the right-field wall.

Zach McKinstry just called up and gave the Dodgers a 4-0 lead in the bottom of the fourth inning with his two-run home run over right field.
The Dodgers manager Dave Roberts was pleased with the way Anderson pitched against the Mets during the game.
"He was, once again, so consistent," Dave Roberts said. "He made pitches when he needed to and kept those guys off-balance."
The Mets trailed the Dodgers 4-1 in the top of the seventh inning after Pete Alonso hit a solo home run against the Dodgers relief pitcher Yency Almonte (RHP) over the left-center-field wall.
Mookie Betts hit a single to get on first base in the bottom of the seventh inning. Stephen Nogosek from the Mets threw a wild pitch that allowed Betts to advance to third base.
Moments later, Trea Turner hit an infield single to get on first base and allowed Betts to come home to make the score 5-1.
The Dodgers led 6-1 in the bottom of the eighth inning when Chris Taylor hit a home run over the center-field wall to put the icing on the cake. With the loss, the Mets fell to (35-19)
