Clippers bounce back in Game 3 to beat the Jazz 132-106 at the Staple Center

LOS ANGELES, CA - The Los Angeles Clippers (0-2) lost two games to the Utah Jazz (2-0), and played much better and took care of the basketball to win Game 3 of the Western Conference Semifinals at the Staple Center 132-106.

Kawhi Leonard had 34-points and Paul George with 31-points, was unstoppable tonight, and Reggie Jackson and Nicolas Batum both with 17-points as the Clippers now trail in the series 2-1.

"We know that they are two of the best in the league," Clippers' head coach Tyronn Lue said. "Like I said yesterday, I don't go to Mastro's to order the ketchup. I go to order the steak. And tonight, our guys want steak. That's what we need."

Donovan Mitchell led the Jazz in scoring with 30-points, Joe Ingles 19-points, Jordan Clarkson 14-points, and Royce O'Neale, and Bojan Bogdanovic both had 12-points.

The Clippers did a great job of taking care of the basketball committing only nine turnovers, and the Jazz with thirteen turnovers.

The Jazz led the Clippers in the first quarter 8-0 after a three-pointer by Joe Ingles and the Clippers head coach Tyronn Lue called a time-out. Reggie Jackson made a deep three-pointer that made the score 8-3.

Jackson made another three-point shot that had the Clippers trailing 10-8. Paul George's jump shot tied the game 10-10. Kawhi Leonard's reverse layup gave the Clippers a 12-10 lead.

Marcus Morris Sr.'s jump shot had the Clippers leading 16-13 with 3:55 left in the quarter, and the Jazz called a time-out. Leonard made a pair of free throws to give the Clippers a four-point lead, 20-16.

Patrick Beverly made a driving layup that gave the Clippers a 27-23 lead at the end of the quarter. George led the Clippers with 7-points, and Jackson and Leonard both had 6-points. Ingles led the Jazz in scoring with 11-points.

Ivica Zubac made two free throws in the second quarter to give the Clippers a 28-23 lead. Nicolas Batum's three-pointer increased the Clippers' lead to 31-26. George made a three-point shot that gave the Clippers a seven-point lead, 36-29.

Donovan Mitchell's basket in the key had the Jazz trailing 39-33 with 7:34 left in the first half. Jackson continued his hot shooting and made another three-pointer making the score 42-33, and forcing the Jazz to call another timeout.

Terance Mann slashing layup made the score 44-36. Leonard made a jump shot to give the Clippers a ten-point lead, 51-41, with 4:08 left in the first half. George made another three-pointer that made the score 54-41.

George was really in a shooting zone and made a three-point shot that had the Clippers up by sixteen points, 57-41, with 2:54 left in the first half. The Clippers led at halftime 64-49.

George made 4 of 7 three-pointers, 8 of 16 from the floor with 20-points to lead the Clippers in scoring, followed by Jackson with 14-points, Batum with 11-points, and Leonard with 10-points.

"I think I just shot my shots, got the shots I'm most comfortable with, and stuck with it," George said.

Mitchell led the Jazz in scoring with 16-points, Ingles with 14-points, and Clarkson with 11-points. The Clippers made 10 of 20 three-point shots for 50 percent, and the Jazz 11 of 23 three-point shots for 47.8 percent.

Mitchell's three-point shot had the Jazz down 79-68. Bojan Bogdanovic's three-pointer made the score 84-76, and the Clippers called timeout with 4:02 left in the third quarter.

After the timeout, George made a three-point shot to give the Clippers an 87-76 lead. Zubac's two-handed dunk made the score 91-78, with 2:21 left in the quarter. Luke Kennard's three-pointer gave the Clippers a 94-80 lead.

The Clippers closed out the third quarter leading 94-83, with George scoring 25-points, Leonard 22-points, and Jackson 5 of 6 from three-point range 17-points. Mitchell had 26-points for the Jazz.

George's three-point shot had the Clippers leading in the fourth quarter 99-85. The Clippers led 102-89 after Kennard made another three-point shot. The Jazz trail 104-92 after a layup by George.

The Jazz called a timeout with 7:43 left in the game after Leonard's jump shot made the score 106-92. Leonard was fouled on a jump shot he made in the key and his free throw to give the Clippers a 109-95 lead.

The Clippers led 113-95 after a three-pointer by Leonard. Batum made a three-point shot that made the score 116-95 with 5:22 left in the game. The Clippers were up 120-98 after a pull-up jumper by Leonard with 3:36 left in the game.

Yogi Ferell's jump shot from the left side of the basket increased the Clippers' lead to 125-98, with 2:15 left in the game. Daniel Oturu made a basket in the key that made the score 130-104, and the Clippers made a statement by beating the Jazz by twenty-six points, 132-106.
