Clippers lose sixth straight after losing to Atlanta
LOS ANGELES, CA - The Atlanta Hawks blew a 17- point first-half lead but rallied in the fourth quarter to defeat the Los Angeles Clippers 112-108 on Sunday at Crypto.com Arena.
Trae Young scored 30 points and De’Andre Hunter added 20 points to give the Clippers their sixth straight loss.
Atlanta used a 17-4 run in the fourth quarter to get back into the game. Young scored to give the Hawks a 108-106 lead. Kawhi Leanord’s layup tied it with 1:16 left in the game.
Leonard and Marcus Morris missed 3-point attempts before Young got fouled and made two free throws to preserve the victory.
“Tonight, we had a conscious effort of playing the right way so I can live with the results,” Clippers coach Tyronn Lue said. “We did some good things to get back in the game after being down. I liked our fight. Seeing what we did I was encouraged.”
The Clippers were led by Leonard, who finished with 29 points. Ivica Zubac added 17 points and 18 rebounds.
Atlanta led by 14 points at halftime before the Clippers went on a 21-4 run to regain the lead in the fourth quarter.
“We just got to keep building on it,” Hunter said. “We can't take no steps back.”
