Davante Adams and Josh Jacobs help the Raiders beat the Chargers 27-20

LAS VEGAS, NV - Davante Adams had eight catches for 177 yards and two touchdowns, and Josh Jacobsran for 144 yards and one touchdown to help the Las Vegas Raiders (5-7) beat the Los Angeles Chargers (6-6) with a sold-out crowd at Allegiant Stadium 27-20.

Derek Carr threw the football 30 times. completed 16 of his passes for 250 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception, and Justin Herbert for the Chargers completed 28 of his 47 passes for 335 yards and one touchdown.

The Raiders showed heart and character coming from behind against their AFC West rival and now have won three straight. and are two games behind the last wild-card playoff spot.

"I think the character was on full display today. And watching our guys bounce back – I mean, we turned it over again, twice. Why, or the reason, it doesn't matter; it's what we did. We just make it hard on ourselves and then see everybody bounce back and keep believing, and keep playing. The defense was playing great for us, keeping them off the scoreboard and all that. It's good seeing both sides of the ball helping each other and playing that way, and the energy on the sideline was unbelievable."

The Chargers pulled the first trick out of the hat in the first quarter, stopped short on third down, and had to punt, fake the punt on a keeper to pick up the first down.

Josh Jacobs continued to be the workhorse for the running game for the Raiders, picking up nine yards to get them a first down and out of being pinned deep inside their 10-yard line.

Kyle Van Noy from the Chargers got the first turnover after recovering a fumble by the Raiders at the 26-yard line. The Chargers led 7-0 after a pass by Derek Carr intended for Mack Hollins was intercepted by Bryce Callahan at the 26-yard line of the Raiders.

The Chargers were threatening to score again in the second quarter at the 15-yard line of the Raiders, had third and five, and Justin Hebert was sacked for a four-yard loss by Chandler Jones (DE) and had to settle for a 37-yard field goal by Cameron Dickers, making the score 10-0.

The Raiders began to click offense had first and ten at the 20-yard line of the Chargers. Moments later, Josh Jacobs broke loose for a 20-yard touchdown run capping off a 75-yard drive, and the Raiders now trailed 10-7 with 7:52 left before halftime.

Los Angeles had third and five, and Hebert was sacked again by the Raiders Jones for a nine-yard loss at their 18-yard line, forcing them to punt.

Carr had the offense moving and threw a 32-yard pass to his tight-end Foster Moreau to the 47-yard line of the Chargers. The Raiders, with 2:17 left in the second quarter, tied the game 10-10 with a 55-yard field goal by Daniel Carlson.

The Chargers were at the 34-yard line of the Raiders with third and ten and picked up the first down at the 24-yard line. The defense by the Raiders held them to a 34-yard field goal, and the Chargers regained the lead 13-10.

The Raiders were in field goal range after Carr completed a 36-yard pass to Davante Adams to the 39-yard line of the Chargers. Carlson attempted to tie the game, but his field goal attempt from 52 yards was no good, and the Chargers led 13-10 at halftime.

In the first half, Carr completed 9 of his 19 passes for 129 yards and one interception, and Herbert for the Chargers completed 11 of his 21 passes for 121 yards. Jacobs carried the ball 12 times for the Raiders for 61 yards and one touchdown.

The defense for the Raiders in the third quarter recovered a fumble by the Chargers at their 34-yard line. Carr would throw a 31-yard touchdown to Davante Adams, and the Raiders now led 17-13.

Dicker attempted to kick a 52-yard field goal for the Chargers to get them closer to the Raiders but was wide right, and the Raiders got the ball. Carr and Adams would connect again, this time for a 45-yard touchdown, increasing their lead to 24-13 with 10:53 left in the quarter.

 The Raiders led by fourteen points in the fourth quarter, 27-13, after Carlson kicked a 25-yard field goal. The Chargers trailed the Raiders 27-20 with 8:34 left in the fourth quarter when Herbert threw a 35-yard touchdown pass to Keenan Allen.

The pressure by the Raiders on Herbert forced him to throw a bad pass on fourth down, and the Raiders were able to hold on for a huge win.
