LOS ANGELES, CA - Julio Urias pitched seven strong innings, and the offense recorded 15 hits to help the Los Angeles Dodgers defeat the Minnesota Twins 10-3 on Tuesday night at Dodger Stadium.

The Dodgers have won nine straight and improved to a Major League-best 76-33. Minnesota's loss puts them in a first-place tie in the A Central with the Cleveland Guardians.

"I felt good, and I have been able to go stronger late in the games the last couple of times," Urias said. "That's a credit to the manager, who has been able to give me the opportunity."

After Freddie Freeman reached base with a walk, Will Smith hit a double to deep right-center field to score Freeman and give the Dodgers a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning.

The Twins evened the score 1-1 in the top of the second inning when Gilbert Celestine hit an infield single to the pitcher. Gio Urshela scored after getting on base with a triple.

Joey Gallo got his first base hit as a Dodger in the bottom of the second inning. Cody Bellinger hit a double to score Gallo and Lux, who had reached base with a single. Trea Turner doubled to center field, and Bellinger scored to give the Dodgers a 4-1 lead.

Max Muncy hit a 412-foot solo home run, and the Dodgers took a 5-1 lead in the bottom of the third inning. Los Angeles added a run in the bottom of the fourth inning when Trea Turner grounded out to the pitcher, and Betts scored.

"It's been looking really good lately," Muncy said. "We've been looking good all year long, yet at the same time, not all of us have gotten going at once."

In the bottom of the seventh inning, Freeman and Will Smith got on base with singles. Muncy doubled to right field to score Freeman to extend the lead to 7-1. Smith would come around to score when Justin Turner grounded out to the shortstop for an 8-1 lead.

Minnesota All-Star center fielder Byron Buxton hit a two-run home run to cut the Dodgers' lead 8-3 in the top of the eighth inning.

Los Angeles took a 10-3 lead in the bottom of the eighth inning on Trea Turner's RBI double and Smith's RBI single that scored Turner.

Minnesota will look to rebound from the loss on Wednesday when they send Sonny Gray (6-3) to the mound. The Dodgers are going to call up Ryan Pepiot (1-0) to make the start.
