LOS ANGELES, CA - Clayton Kershaw (0-1) became the first pitcher in postseason history to allow five or more runs before recording an out as the Los Angeles Dodgers, in Game 1 of the NLDS, got blown out by the Arizona Diamondbacks 11-2 at Dodgers Stadium

Kershaw pitched only 0.1 innings and gave up six hits, six runs, and one home run against the Dbacks.

"Just disappointing. Embarrassing," Kershaw said. "You just feel like you let everybody down, guys in the whole organization that look to you to pitch well in Game 1. It's just embarrassing, really. I just feel like I let everybody down."

Merrill Kelly pitched 6.1 innings while giving up three hits, and had five strikeouts.

The Dodgers manager, Dave Roberts, has Kershaw penciled in to start Game 4 of the NLDS.

"I thought tonight, if you look at the stuff, the velocity, I thought you didn't get too much of a look at him, but I thought the stuff was good. Just some mistakes that they capitalized on," Roberts said. "He's going to pitch Game 4. So I'm sure that's where his head's at."

Arizona wasted no time to take a 1-0 lead in the top of the first inning after Clayton Kershaw gave a double to lead off-batter Ketel Marte, and moments later, Corbin Carroll hit a single to center field, and Martel came home to score.

The Dbacks led 2-0 after Christian Walker doubled to left field and Carroll scored. The game got out of control for Kershaw as Arizona now led 5-0 after Gabriel Moreno hit a three-run home over the left field wall to end the inning.

Evan Longoria doubled to left field, and Alek Thomas scored, giving the Dbacks a 6-0 lead. Emmet Sheehan would come in for Kershaw to restore order getting Loudes Gurriel Jr. to ground out, Geraldo Perdomo to strike out, and Martel to ground out.

Arizona would increase their lead to 7-0 in the top of the second inning after Carroll homered over the right field wall. Guriel Jr. gave Arizona an 8-0 lead with a double to left field, and Tommy Pham scored.

Arizona added to their lead 10-0 in the top of the seventh inning with a solo home run by Thomas over center field.

Pham increased the Dbacks’ lead to 11-0 in the top of the eighth inning with his solo home run over the right field fence.

The Dodgers finally got on the scoreboard trailing 11-2 in the bottom of the eighth inning, when Will Smith hit a line drive to right field for a triple, and Betts and Freeman would come home to score the game's final runs.
