LAFC rocks the San Jose Earthquakes 6-2
LOS ANGELES, CA - LAFC scored four first-half goals en route to a 6-2 win over San Jose on Saturday at BMO Stadium.
The victory over the Earthquakes extended its club-record unbeaten streak to ten games. Los Angeles FC improved to 11-4-4 overall on the season.
LAFC took a 1-0 lead when Sergi Palencia sent a cross to Mateusz Bogusz, who connected on the header in the 15th minute. It was Bogusz's 8th goal of the season.
In the 26th minute, Denis Bouanga knocked in a left-footed shot from the center of the box to give LAFC a 2-0 lead. Two minutes later, San Jose almost got one back, but Niko Tsakiris' shot missed high and wide to the left.
LAFC forward Kei Kamara gave LAFC a 3-0 lead in the 3rd minute when he leaped over a defender for the header. Kamara's goal put him ahead of Landon Donovan on the all-time MLS goal list.
The Black and Gold extended the lead to 4-0 on a goal from Ryan Hollingshead in the 42nd minute.
San Jose got on the board in the 48th minute with a right-footed goal from Rodrigues. LAFC took a 4-1 lead into halftime.
Bogusz scored his second goal of the match on a right-footed shot from a difficult angle to give LAFC a 5-1 lead in the second half. San Jose cut the lead 5-2 in the 57th minute on a header from Benjamin Kikanovic.
Tomas Angel blasted a left-footed shot into the back of the net to give LAFC a 6-2 lead in the 87th minute.
LAFC is back in action on June 29, when they host Colorado.
