LAS VEGAS, NV - The Las Vegas Aces became the first professional sports team to bring a championship to Las Vegas and had a marvelous time celebrating with their fans.

The Aces championship parade began at Caesars Palace, and the fun started on a stage at the Bellagio Fountains with A'ja Wilson, the 2022 WNBA Most Valuable Player leading the way.

"Las Vegas, I can't thank you enough for how much you rallied behind me and my teammates, we did this one for y'all," Wilson said at the event. "I've got some of the best teammates in the world. I mean that."

A banner hanging in the backdrop at the event read, "history made, with Mark Davis, the owner of the Las Vegas Raiders, with his opening speech.

"I've said it before, and I'm going to say it now, to the greatest fans in professional sports, Las Vegas, we are world champions," he said. "It wasn't an overnight journey.

The Aces head coach Becky Hammon was named the Coach of the Year, and to become the first head coach in WNBA history to win a title in her first year as a head coach, was amazed and impressed by the turnout.

"I'm new to the desert, and I didn't know you were going to show out like this," Hammon said. "But I'm learning."

Moments later, Hammon joined in the celebration with the fans by Nevada governor Steve Sisolak who gave the Aces a key to the Las Vegas Strip and declared Tuesday Las Vegas Aces Day in the state.

"It is incredible; these women deserve it so much," Sisolak said. "They're great leaders on the court, but off the court, they're an inspiration to every young person, especially young women who now know that if they can dream it, it can come true."

Chelsea Gray said there would be more championships, and you know what? I do believe her.

The Aces Presiden Nikki Vargas and Mark Davis had the same vision of turning the team into a championship-caliber team and made all the right decisions to make their vision come true.

Well, now we will have to wait and see if the Aces can win back-to-back championships so stick around and let’s see what happens!
