LMU gets routed 63-38 against San Francisco in season opener
LOS ANGELES, CA - The LMU Lions open their WCC home opener against the San Francisco Dons, and with poor shooting from key players, were beaten 63-38.
The Lions made 13 of 55 shots from the floor 23.6, percent, and from the three-point arc just 4 of 23 for 17.4 percent. The only bright spot for them was Alexis Mark, with 18 points and six rebounds.

The Lions led 15-9 in the first quarter after Da' Ja Hamilton knocked down a three-pointer from the top of the arc. The Lions led at the end of the first quarter 15-11.
San Francisco trailed 15-13 in the second quarter after Jasmine Gayles made a two-point shot. San Francisco tied the game 17-17 with two free throws by Luana Leite.
The Dons took a 22-17 lead with a layup and a three-pointer by Debora dos Santos. LMU trail 25-20 with a layup by Alexis Marks. The Dons led by thirteen points at halftime, 34-21, with a three-pointer by Gayles.
Mark led LMU in scoring with 7 points and Hamilton with 5 points. Santos led San Francisco in scoring 14 points and Gayles with 10 points.
Gayles would drive to the basket to give San Francisco a 36-21 lead in the third quarter. The Dons dominated the boards with a 29-14 margin going into the quarter. Mark would make two free throws that made the score 41-28.
San Francisco went up by twenty points, 48-28, with a three-pointer by Aya Keita with 4:14 left in the game. LMU trail at the end of the third quarter 52-32.
Gayles continues her scoring rampage, knocking down another three-pointer from the top of the ket to give the Dons a 55-32 lead in the fourth quarter. Freja Werth took a three-point shot in front of her bench to give San Francisco a 58-34 lead.
LMU (0-1) would fall to San Francisco (1-0) 63-38, led by Gayles with 20 points and Santos with 16 points and 18 rebounds.
