10/15/21 LOS ANGELES, CA - On a beautiful Friday evening, the Los Angeles Rams and the GRYD Foundation (Gang Reductions and Youth Development) sponsored a free football clinic in South Los Angeles at Green Meadows Recreation.

Many kids from the area were able to participate in football-related drills and competition events.

The Rams' volunteer coaches enjoyed the kids during the clinic while the parents were watching from the side, with big smiles on their faces. The coaching staff also taught the kids about the importance of teamwork.

This program was started back in 2015 by Mayor Garcetti, realizing the importance of having programs for the communities in high gang-related areas.

Programs where law enforcement agencies, parents, parks, and recreation centers, work together to provide a safe environment, along with extended programs, free meals provided, and sports leagues.

Growing up just a few blocks away, it felt good being back at Green Meadows Recreation and reminded me of where we played as kids and learned how to swim, and on weekends would play basketball, and flag football with the other kids, and parents felt safe there, and we had gangs back then.

The programs back then saved many kids' lives and kept many of us from getting in trouble, getting shot, killed, or joining gangs.

The Rams have impacted so many lives since returning to Los Angeles, and the smiles and laughter from the parents and their kids at Green Meadows Recreation said it all, that they were grateful and felt safe during the clinic.
