Mac Jones scheduled to return
Mac Jones, the quarterback for the Patriots, is reportedly expecting to be prepared to play against the Chicago Bears on Monday night, with a final decision awaiting practice this week.
Since sustaining what was allegedly a high ankle sprain on one of the last plays of the Patriots' defeat to the Baltimore Ravens in Week 3, Jones has been out for three games. Since then, the bulk of the snaps have been handled by rookie quarterback Bailey Zappe, who has won both of his career's starts against the Lions and Browns to help the Patriots level their record at 3-3.
In the challenging game against the Ravens, Jones, who had a 1-2 record to open the 2022 season, threw for more over 300 yards, but his performance was hindered by three interceptions, which prevented New England from mounting a comeback. The club has since developed a winning formula, which should be strengthened even more by the starter's return.
If Jones is healthy enough to play, he will face a Chicago defense that has given up the fourth-fewest passing yards but the fourth-most rushing yards. Meanwhile, the 4-2 New York Jets will be waiting next week for a crucial AFC East matchup.
