LOS ANGELES, CA - The Los Angeles Clippers came out the gate sluggish to start the game and lost their season home to the Phoenix Suns 112-95 at the Crypto.com Arena.

Marcus Morris Sr. led the Clippers in scoring with 22-points, John Wall with 17-points, Paul George with 16-points, Kawhi Leonard, who played 21 minutes, had 11-points, and Terance Mann had 9-points.

Chris Paul became the third player in NBA history on the night to have 11,000 assists when he passed the ball to his teammate Deandre Ayton for an alley-opp dunk.

The slow start on offense was just too much for the Clippers to overcome, and Devin Booker killed them on defense with 35-points.

"You can't start games like that, especially when you want to start with a defensive mindset," Lue said. "No excuses with the back-to-back. Everybody plays back-to-back. We've just got to be better.

Phoenix led 11-0 in the first quarter after a jump shot in the paint by Kevin Booker. Marcus Morris Sr. made a jump shot, and the Clippers trailed 11-2.

Booker made a step-back jump shot over Paul George to give Phoenix a 16-8 lead. John Wall would make a layup had the Clippers trailing 28-15. The Suns increased their lead to 32-15 with a finger-roll basket Jock Landale.

Nicolas Batum threw up a 35-foot shot that went in the basket at the buzzer and had the Clippers trailing at the end of the quarter 33-18.

At the start of the second quarter, Phoenix led 36-18 after a three-pointer by Chris Paul. Mann got a back-door pass from Ivica Zuback and went up for a two-handed dunk from the right side of the basket, making the score 40-24.

Kawhi Leonard checked in the game and went to work driving to the basket for a layup and was fouled on his made basket, and made his free throw and the Clippers now trailed 43-27.

Morris Sr. drove to the basket for a layup and made the score 46-29. Leonard driving to the basket for a layup had the Clippers trailing 56-37 with 1:27 left before halftime.

Jock Landale falling back, made a three-pointer in front of the Clipper bench, giving the Suns a 59-37. Leonard would make two free throws had the Clippers trailing 61-41 at halftime.

Wall made a three-pointer, followed by his layup, had the Clippers trailing 67-52 in the third quarter. Robert Covington's three-point shot made the score 74-62. Phoenix led 80-74 with a three-pointer by Torrey Craig.

The Clippers trailed the Suns by ten points,82-72, after George made a three-pointer with 1:20 left in the third quarter. Cameron Payne's jump shot had the Suns leading at the end of the third quarter, 86-72.

Zubac's put-back dunk shot made the score 88-76. Cameron Johnson's floater in the key gave the Suns a 90-76 lead. The Clippers would trail 93-82 after a jump shot by Morris Sr. with 6:28 left in the game.

Deandre Ayton's finger-roll basket gave Phoenix a 103-81. Mann's three-pointer had the Clippers trailing by thirteen points, 103-90. The Suns beat the Clippers 112-95 improving their record to (2-1).

Booker led Phoenix in scoring with 35-points, Deandre Ayton with 13-points, Cameron Johnson with 11-points, and Cameron Payne had 10-points.
