No. 4 UCLA remains unbeaten at home (14-0) after beating Stanford 73-64

WESTWOOD, CA - The No. 4 rank team in the country the UCLA Bruins improved their home record to 14-0 after beating the Stanford Cardinal 73-64 at Pauley Pavilion to remain in first place in the Pac-12 Conference at 13-2.

Jamie Jaquez Jr. led UCLA in scoring with 26 points, Jaylen Clark with 16 points, and Adem Bona and David Singleton each had 8 points.

Jaquez Jr. would not let his Bruins go down in the second half, making some big-time shots.

"I talked about this in a previous interview. This is my last year, and I've realized that I've only got so many games left, so I'm gonna go down swinging. No matter what, I know my guys trusted me, and I know my coach trusted me. When they put the ball in my hands, I'm just ready to make a play, whether it be shoot, pass, or just create. I'm just ready to do whatever the team needs to win."

Michael Jones was the leading scorer for Stanford with 15 points, Harrison Ingram with 13 points, and Maxime Raynaud with 12 points.

UCLA did a great job of taking care of the basketball committing only seven turnovers while forcing Stanford to commit fourteen turnovers.

Spencer Jones would knock down a three-pointer to give Stanford a 9-5 lead in the first half. UCLA would trail 15-11 with a layup by Jaylen Clark. Brandon Angel would make a layup to give Stanford a 20-16 lead.

Stanford led by eight points, 24-16, with a driving layup by Michael O'Connell. The Bruins would trail 27-21 with a dunk by Kenneth Nwuba with 5:46 left in the first half. Stanford led 29-21 with a layup by Isa Silva.

UCLA trailed Stanford by six points, 31-25, with a jump shot by Jaime Jaquez Jr. The Bruins trailed at halftime 31-27 with a jump shot by Jaquez Jr. just before the buzzer went off.

The Bruins got their first lead, 35-32, with a three-pointer by Singleton. UCLA led by four points, 37-33, with a dunk by Jaylen Clark. Jaquez Jr. drove to the basket and was fouled on his layup, and made his free throw to give UCLA a 43-36 lead.

Stanford would trail 43-38 with a dunk by Harrison Ingram. Jaquez Jr. would drive the basket for a reverse layup to give the Bruins a 45-38 lead. Stanford trailed by two points, 45-42, with a three-pointer by Michael Jones. Jones would knock down a layup to tie the game 45-45.

Stanford would regain the lead 47-45 with another layup by Jones. UCLA had no answer for Jones, who made a three-point shot, and Stanford now led 50-45.

The Bruins would lead 54-53 with the back-to-back jump shot by Jaquez Jr. and two free throws. Tyger Campbell had UCLA down by one point, 57-56, with 7:30 left in the game. The Bruins would take the lead back, 58-57, with a dunk by Clark.

Stanford trailed UCLA 60-59 with a layup by Harrison Ingram with 5:09 left in the game. The Bruins would go a 13-5 run to end the game and improve their record to (22-4, Pac-12,13-2).
