The Clippers battle back to beat the Mavs in a thriller 119-117

LOS ANGELES, CA - The Los Angeles Clippers (6-5) got their offense going in the second half and came from behind to beat the Cleveland Cavaliers (8-2) in a thriller 119-117 at the Crypto.com Arena.

Paul George led the Clippers in scoring with 26-points, Marcus Morris Sr. with 20-points, Reggie Jackson with 18-points, Norman Powell off the bench with 17-points, and Terance Mann with 16-points.

Donovan Mitchell was the leading scorer for the Cavs with 30-points, Evan Mobley with 26-points, Darius Garland had 19-points and 12 rebounds, and Kevin Love with 17-points.

Evan Mobley gave Cleveland a 4-0 lead in the first quarter with his two-hand dunk. Paul George would make a three-point shot had the Clippers trailing 10-8.

The Cavs led 17-12 with a three-point shot by Mitchell. Mitchell would make another three-pointer that gave the Cavs a 34-22 lead. The Clippers trailed the Cavs 37-31 at the end of the quarter after George made a step-back three-point shot.

Terance Mann had the Clippers trailing by four points, 46-42, in the second quarter after making a jump shot. The Clippers got their first lead, 47-46, with Robert Covington's three-point shot.

The Clippers and Cavs were tied 64-64 at halftime after Morris Sr. knocked down a jump shot.

The Clippers led at the end of the quarter 88-87, thanks to Morris Sr. making another three-point shot.

The Cavs led the Clippers 90-88 in the fourth quarter after Donovan Mitchell made another three-point shot. The Clippers were down by seven points, 97-90, after a jump shot by the Cavs' Jarrett Allen.

Reggie Jackson's driving layup had the Clippers in striking distance after trailing 103-97. Mann drove to the basket for a power dunk that had the Clippers down 112-108 with 1:41 left in the game.

Powell would tie the game 112-112, and the Clippers fans were standing on their feet shouting, "Defense, Defense." George would drive to the basket for a layup to give the Clippers a 114-112 lead with 37.2 seconds left on the clock.

Reggie Jackson made two free throws that gave the Clippers a 119-115 lead with 8.0 seconds left in the game. Mitchell had 4.5 seconds left in the game, was fouled on his shot, and made two free throws to make the final score 119-117.
