The Clippers beat the Lakers 114-101 for the ninth straight time

LOS ANGELES, CA -The Los Angeles Clippers (7-5) continued their dominance over their rivals, the Los Angeles Lakers (2-9), by beating them 114-101 at the Crypto.com Arena.

Seven players for the Clippers were in double figures, with Paul George leading the way with 29-points, Norman Powell with 18-points, Reggie Jackson with 14-points, Luke Kennard with 13-points, Marcus Morris Sr. with 11-points, and Ivica Zuback and John Wall both with 10-points.

Before Lebron James went out in the fourth quarter with a leg injury, he had 30-points, Anthony Davis with 21-points, Troy Brown Jr., and Russell Westbrook both with 14-points

"I was proud of how we came out in the third quarter and took control of the game again," Clippers coach Tyronn Lue said. "Just being able to get it back in the second half and understanding it's a competition, not a show. I know it's the two LA teams, but we're playing to get better every night, so it's not a show."

Paul George gave the Clippers a 3-0 lead in the first quarter with a three-point shot. The Clippers led 6-2 after Luke Kennard made a three-pointer.

The Lakers would go on an 8-0 run, and now led 10-6 after a jump shot by LeBron James. Reggie Jackson tied the game 10-10 with a step-back jump shot. Marcus Morris Sr.'s three-pointer gave the Clippers the lead back, 13-10.

 The Clippers had a six-point lead, 16-10, after a jump shot by Kennard. Kennard would knock down another three-pointer that gave the Clippers a 10-point lead, 23-13, forcing the Lakers to call a timeout.

John Wall drove to the basket and was fouled on his made shot, and made his free throw as the Clippers led 32-19. The Clippers led by seventeen points at the end of the quarter, 38-21, with a layup by George.

Max Christie, with his three-pointer, had the Lakers down 39-26 in the second quarter. The Lakers kept scrapping and found themselves down by seven-point, 48-41, with a three-pointer by Austin Reaves.

The Lakers tied the game 48-48 with a layup by Russell Westbrook. George would make a fall-away jump shot that made the score 52-49 with 2:29 left before halftime.

The Lakers trail at halftime 54-52 after a jump shot by Russell. George led all players with 19-points, followed by James with 16-points.

The Clippers led 67-56 in the third quarter with a jump shot in the paint by Ivica Zubac. Patrick Beverley had the Lakers trailing by eight points,69-61, with his three-pointer.

The Lakers would tie the game 71-71 with a jump shot by Brown Jr. with 2:13 left in the third quarter. Marcus Morris Sr's three-pointer had the Clippers leading 76-71.

Norman Powell would make a three-point shot that increased the Clippers' lead to 81-73. George would go up for a dunk and had the Clippers leading 87-75 to end the quarter.

James had the Lakers down by ten points, 97-87, with his three-point shot in the fourth quarter. The Clippers led 103-89 with a driving float shot in the paint.

The Lakers were still in the game 106-97 with 2:43 left on the clock when Westbrook threw an alley-oop pass to Davis for a dunk, but couldn’t make stops on defense to give them a chance, and Mann would make the last basket for the Clippers to put the icing on their 114-101 win over their rivals.
