SANTA CLARA, CA - On a cold and raining night at Levi's Stadium, Joshua Karty kicked four field goals to help the Los Angeles Rams beat the San Francisco 49ers 12-6, improving their record to (8-6), and one game behind the Seattle Seahawks (8-5) in the NFC West.

Karty would kick and deliver field goals from 48, 23, 27, and 29 yards to outscore San Francisco 12-6 in a huge win for Los Angeles in the NFC West.

It was an ugly game for both teams, but the Rams will have to credit their defense for keeping the 49ers' offense out of the endzone, with Brock Purdy completing 14 of his 31 passes for 142 yards and one interception and George Kittle with four catches for 61 yards.

Matthew Stafford completed 16 of his 27 passes for 160 yards, Kyren Williams carried the football twenty-nine times for 108 yards, and Puka Nucua had seven catches for 97 yards enough to beat the 49ers for the third straight time.

"In the second half, the weather was good enough to do it all," Stafford said. "We had the feeling that that was the kind of way this game was going to be played and it's going to have to be one of those games. We scored 44 four nights ago and come out here and score 12 but they both count for one."

"What's really cool is this team has found a bunch of different ways to be able to win football games," coach Sean McVay said. "You come off a 44-42 game the other day and then you win 12-6. Our group did what they needed to do to be able to get it done.

San Francisco, on their second possession of the game, Brock Purdy connected with his tight-end George Kettle for 33 yards at the Rams' 41-yard line to set up a 53-yard field goal by Jake Moody after going 39-yards on five plays to give them a 3-0 lead in the first quarter.

Los Angeles was pinned down at their 3-yard line in the second quarter after a 47-yard punt by Pat O'Connell and downed by Nick McCloud.

Joshua Karty would tie the game 3-3 with his 48-yard field goal with 1:10 left before halftime after going 20 yards on seven plays.

The 49ers had a golden opportunity to go up by a touchdown in the third quarter at Los Angeles' 29-yard line, but Deebo Samuel Jr. dropped the football before turning upfield, forcing them to settle for a 47-yard field goal by Moody to take a 6-3 lead.

The Rams ended the third quarter with a 2nd & third at the 49ers' 4-yard line. After two holding penalties against the Rams, Karty would come in the game to tie it 6-6 with his 23-yard field goal with 13:38 left in the fourth quarter.

Los Angeles Rams #17 Puka Nacua (WR) 51 yard reception gave them a first down at the San Francisco 49ers 16-yard line.

Stafford would connect with Nacua for 51 yards to set up a 1st and ten at the 49ers' 16-yard line. The Rams would regain the lead 9-6 with a 27-yard field goal by Karty after going 59 yards on five plays.

San Francisco, with 5:10 left in the game and threatening to score, Purdy threw a pass intended for Jauan Jennings but was intercepted by the Rams' Darious Williams in the endzone for a touchback.

Los Angeles would drive downfield 69 yards using 13 plays, and with 18 seconds left in the game, Karty would kick a 29-yard field goal to increase their lead to 12-6.

The 49ers still had hope left in the game after Ethan Evans for the Rams kick after their field goal made by Karty went 71 yards and caught by Samuel at their six-yard line and pushed out of bounds at their 35-yard line, but the Rams Charles Woods was flagged for a horse-collar giving them a first down at the 50-yard line with 11 seconds left in the game.

Purdy, on second and ten, was sacked at their 44-yard line by the Rams Christian Rozeboom and time ran out to end the game as the 49ers fell to (6-8), and their playoff hopes looked dim.
