The Rams take control in the second half to beat the Cardinals 26-9

INGLEWOOD, CA - The Los Angeles Rams rode the shoulders of Kyren Williams in the second half, who carried the ball 20 times for 159 yards and one touchdown to help beat the Arizona Cardinals 26-9 at SoFi Stadium.

"Super" Cooper Kupp caught seven passes for 148 yards and one touchdown, and the Rams defense had two takeaways, an interception, and a fumble recovery to help secure the win.

The Ram's defense in the first quarter kept the Cardinals out of the endzone on 3rd and eighth when Ahkello Witherspoon knocked down a pass intended for running back Keaontay Ingram in the endzone. Arizona had to settle for a 55-yard field goal by Matt Prater to take a 3-0 lead.

On the Cardinal's second possession of the game, quarterback Joshua Dobbs was sacked by Jonah Williams (DE) for a loss of 13 yards on 3rd and two at the Rams' 40-yard line.

Matthew Stafford took advantage of their second possession of the game, connecting with Cooper Kupp for 37 yards to Arizona's 16-yard line. The Rams tied the game 3-3 with a 29-yard field goal by Matt Maher.

Aaron Donald did a speed rush and sacked Dobbs for a 6-yard loss in the second quarter. Arizona's special teams came up big, recovering a fumble on a punt by the Rams' Austin Trammell, recovered at their 16-yard line. The Cardinals took a 6-3 lead with a 32-yard field goal by Prater.

Arizona led 9-3 after Prater kicked a 27-yard field goal by Prater. With 43 seconds left before halftime, Stafford threw a 49-yard strike to Kupp to set up Mayer for a 58-yard field goal by Maher to trail the Cardinals 9-6 at halftime.

Stafford, in the first half, was 8/15 passing for 134 yards, and the Rams' Kyren Williams carried the football two times for four yards, and Ronnie Rivers with one time for one yard.

The Rams would lead in the third quarter, 13-9, after Stafford threw a 13-yard touchdown to Kupp on the right side of the endzone. TuTu Atwell caught a pass for 30 yards to give the Rams a first down at the Cardinals' 42-yard line.

Moments later, Williams would break free for 31 yards to Arizona's 11-yard line. The Rams would increase their lead to 16-9 after going 80 yards with a 24-yard field goal by Maher.

The Cardinals were at the Rams' 12-yard line when Dobbs threw a 22-yard pass to Marquise Brown (WR) to end the third quarter.

During the fourth quarter, Dobbs threw a pass intended for tight-end Zach Ertz, and the Rams' Christian Rozeboom (ILB) intercepted the football at the Rams' 12-yard line.

The Rams increased their lead to 23-9 with a 5-yard touchdown run by Williams, and the extra point was good with 8:19 left in the game.

The defense by the Rams came up with another turnover, this time a fumble by Dobbs after being hit from his blind side by Byron Young (OLB) and recovered by Quentin Lake (S) at their 33-yard line.

Maher would kick a 43-yard field goal that would make the final score 26-9, improving the Rams record to 3-3, and the Cardinals 1-5.
