The Suns hang on to beat the Clippers 84-80 in Game 4 of the Western Conference Finals

LOS ANGELES, CA - The Los Clippers could be the only team in NBA history to trail all three rounds of the NBA Playoffs if they can continue their winning ways after being down (2-1), loss to the Phoenix Suns 84-80 in Game 4 of the Western Conference Finals.

Paul George had 23-points, Reggie Jackson 20-points, Ivica Zubac 13-points, and 14 rebounds, and Terance Mann 12-points. Devin Booker had 25-points, Deandre Ayton 19-points, Chris Paul 18-points,

The Suns took a 10-2 lead in the first quarter after a three-point jump shot by Jae Crowder, forcing the Clippers to call a timeout. Devin Booker made a jump shot that made the score 14-2.

Paul George made a three-point shot had the Clippers trailing 14-5. Chris Paul made a jump shot that made the score 14-7. Ivica Zubac continues to give the Clippers production at the center position, made a basket inside the key, making the score 16-9.

The Suns led by ten points 23-13 after a pair of free throws by Deandre Ayton. Terance Mann made a three-pointer that had the Clippers down by five points 25-20. Booker made a scoop, and the Suns led by nine points 29-20 at the end of the quarter.

Reggie Jackson made a basket inside the key that had the Clippers trailing 29-24. The Suns led 34-26 after a three-point shot by Dario Saric.

The Clippers continue to struggle shooting, as the Suns were up by thirteen points 39-26, forcing the Clippers to call another time-out with 7:21 left in the first half.

Cameron Payne made a three-point shot making the score 44-29 with 3:17 left in the first half. Mann made two free throws, and the Clippers were down 44-31. Jackson finally knocked down a three-pointer, and the Clippers trail the Suns at halftime 50-36.

George and Jackson both miss the same amount of shots in the first half, just 3 of 11 shots from the floor. George led the Clippers in scoring with 11-points and Jackson with 7-points.

The Clippers made only 13 of 44 shots, 29.5 percent, and 4 of 22 from the three-point arc, 18.2 percent. Ayton led the Suns in scoring with 15-points and Booker with 11-points.

The Clippers trail the Suns in the third quarter, 54-44, after a layup by Patrick Beverly. Chris Paul made a jump shot that made the score 57-44. Marcus Morris Sr. made a jump shot that had the Clippers down by thirteen points again 59-46, with 6:17 left in the quarter.

Jackson began to get his shooting touch back, made another three-pointer, and the Clippers were down by five points 63-58, and the Suns called timeout with 3:30 left in the quarter.

Zubac made two free throws, and the Clippers trailed 65-61. Jackson made a jump shot that made the score 65-63 with 2:14 left in the quarter. Mann made a driving layup that made the score 66-65 in favor of the Suns.

Booker made a layup in the fourth quarter to give the Suns a 71-66 lead. George continued to carry the Clippers and made a jump shot that made the score 71-68.

Booker fouled George for his fourth and got a technical foul, and George shot the free throw that made the score 70-69. George missed one of his two free throws that had the Clippers down by one point, 71-70, with 10:07 left in the game.

The Clippers were 0 for 12 shooting during that stretch and made just 2 of 17 from the floor with several chances to take the lead.

Ayton's dunk had the Suns leading 73-70, but Jackson made two free throws making the score 73-72 with 6:00 minutes left in the game. Booker made a basket that made the score 75-74.

Chris Paul made a layup that gave the Suns a 77-74 lead with 3:43 left in the quarter. Booker made two free throws, and the Suns led 79-74.

Patrick Beverly forced Booker into a traveling call, and the Clippers got the ball back with 1:34 left in the game. Booker drove thru the lane, and Beverly, in a legal defensive stance outside the restricted area, was called for a blocking foul.

The Clippers' head coach Tyronn Lue called a timeout to challenge the call. The officials reviewed the play and, the call was changed to an offensive foul against Booker, and fouled out the game.

Mann's layup had the Clippers trailing 79-76 with 53.1 left in the game. George made two free throws, and the Clippers were down 79-78 with 13.2 seconds left in the game.

DeMarcus Cousin was fouled and made one of his free throws, making the score 82-79. Chris Paul was fouled with 3.9 seconds left in the game and made one free throw that gave the Suns an 82-78 lead.

George was fouled with 3.2 seconds left in the game and made his first free throw making the score 82-80. On his second free throw attempt, George missed the shot to try to give the Clippers a chance to either win or tie the game, but his shot hit the rim, and Chris Paul got the rebound and was fouled on the play.

Moments later, he made two free throws to help the Suns secure an 84-80 win over the Clippers to take a 3-1 lead in the Western Conference Finals.

"I think this team is resilient," Reggie Jackson said. "This team is mentally tough, and everybody is focusing on what they are doing back there recovering."

Clippers head coach Tyronn Lue knows that this team can come back and win on Monday on the road in Phoenix, but they will have to forget about the game on Saturday night.

"Just focus on Monday's game, that's it," Lue said. "Not focus on winning three games. Got to take it one game at a time, and that's got to be our mindset. We beat Utah and won four games in a row. So it's very doable.

"We've just got to make sure we're locked in and understand what we're doing offensively. I think we've got to be more locked in offensively to beat this team."

Paul George and the Clippers now have let two games slip past them, and are down 3-1 in the series, and will have to play great basketball and let it all hang out in Phoenix to have a chance to win Game 5.

"It's going to be hard and tough, but it has to be one game at a time," Paul George said. "Play as hard as we can in Game 5."
