Dallas Cowboys beat the Los Angeles Rams 22-10 at SoFi Stadium
INGLEWOOD, CA - DeMarcus Lawrence recovered a fumble 19 yards for a score on the Rams' first possession, and Dallas Cowboys backup quarterback Cooper Rush stayed unblemished despite throwing for only 102 yards in Sunday's 22-10 victory against Los Angeles.
Tony Pollard carried the football 8 times for 86-yards and one touchdown, and Ezekiel Elliott had 22 carries for 78-yards. With Rush completing 10 of 16 passes, along with the rushing game, and with the Cowboys' formidable defense dominated another great game.
On the third play of scrimmage for the Rams, Dallas got off to a good start when Armstrong dropped Stafford and the football came to lose, scored the second touchdown of his nine-year career giving them a 6-0 lead in the first quarter.
After trailing in the first quarter 9-3 after Matt Gay kicked a 29-yard field goal, the Rams led the Cowboys 10-9 in the second quarter when Matthew Stafford threw a 75-yard touchdown pass to Copper Kupp
Tony Pollard would score on a 57-yard touchdown run for the Cowboys that gave the Cowboys a16-10 lead, who are off to a 4-1 start for the second straight season despite starting quarterback Dak Prescott's absence.
The Cowboys increased their lead to 19-10 after Brett Maher kicked a 40-yard field goal in the third quarter.
Maher would put the final icing on their victory when he kicked a 36-yard field goal in the fourth quarter to help knock off the Rams at home.
The Rams had not scored a touchdown in the last nine quarters, including consecutive defeats to San Francisco and Dallas. Kupp's outstanding catch-and-run is the lone touchdown scored by the Rams in that span.
With 3:29 remaining in the rematch of the first regular-season contest at SoFi Stadium, the multibillion-dollar football palace constructed by Rams owner Stan Kroenke and supported by Cowboys owner Jerry Jones, Malik Hooker made the game-winning interception.
