LA Rams Sebastian Joseph-Day launches "Bashing Hunger" at the St. Joseph Center

7/23/21 VENICE, CA - The Los Angeles Rams Sebastian Joseph-Day, a four-year veteran defensive tackle committed to helping those suffering from hunger and in need, hosted the "Bashing Hunger" at the St. Joseph Center, in Venice California.
This event fed about 150 Angelenos and brought awareness about hunger, with a charitable initiative that focuses on combating food insecurity by increasing food rescue, raising money, and providing nutritional education for individuals in need.
Joeseph-Day collaborated with Dine-N-Bash guest Kim Prince, the owner of Hotville Chicken, and Gregory Dulan, the owner of Dulan's Soul Food Kitchen, to create a food truck, "Dulanville," which is a mixture between Dulan's Soul Food and Hotville Chicken.
The truck visited the St.Joseph Center on Thursday afternoon and provided individuals with bags filled with fruits and vegetables and a boxed meal courtesy of Joseph-Day.
"Combating hunger has been something that I've always tried to attack through all of my charitable efforts," said Joseph-Day. "I believe that no one should suffer or worry about when their next meal will be."

"The physical and emotional stress attached to hunger is debilitating. The goal of Bashing Hunger is to help build sustainable resources to eliminate food deprivation."
The United States Department of Agriculture reported that more than 35 million people experienced hunger in the United States in 2019. In 2020, the COVID-19 pandemic caused more than 42 million people to experience food insecurity, estimated at about 13 million children included.

Hunger affects millions of people every day from all different walks of life and backgrounds, including, but not limited to, unhoused children, seniors, minorities, and many more. The mission of Joseph-Day is to provide food security for individuals and families who are struggling.
"Since joining the Rams, Sebastian has consistently demonstrated a unique passion and commitment to community service," said Molly Higgins, Rams Vice President of Community Affairs and Engagements.
