The Clippers roll past the Bulls 124-112
LOS ANGELES, CA - The Los Angeles Clippers remained in fifth place in the Western Conference standings after a 124-112 win over the Chicago Bulls Monday at Crypto.com Arena.
Nicolas Batum, who replaced Marcus Morris in the starting lineup, scored a season-high 24 points and eight three-pointers, followed by Kawhi Leonard and Eric Gordan, both with 22 points.
"It was nothing crazy, just really open shots," Batum said. "I didn't have to take a dribble on any of those shots. I just had open shots, and my teammates made some good passes. It was just good basketball."
Zach LaVine led the Bulls with 23 points, and Compton native DeMar DeRozan added 21 points and seven assists.
Los Angeles took a 62-55 lead at halftime on the strength of 16 first-half points from Eric Gordon. Batum had 15 points on 5-of-6 from beyond the arc.
"I felt we gave up too many uncontested 3s, especially early when they started to find their rhythm," Chicago coach Billy Donovan said. "And then the ones we did contest, they made them because I think we gave them too many open looks early."
The Clippers held a 22-point lead in the third quarter and continued their hot shooting in the fourth quarter to put the game away.
Los Angeles will hit the road to take on Memphis on Wednesday. Chicago will host the Los Angeles Lakers on Wednesday.
