LOS ANGELES, CA - The Los Angeles Dodgers won Game 1 of the NLDS by beating the San Diego Padres 5-3 at Dodgers Stadium. Trea Turner had a big night with four at-bats, two hits, scored two runs, one RBI, and a solo home run to help spark the Dodgers' offense.

Julio Urias (1-0) pitched 5.0 innings for the Dodgers while giving up four hits, three runs, and one home run.

Trea Turner gave the Dodgers a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning with a solo home run off the Padres starting pitcher Mike Clevinger over the left-field wall. Will Smith, the next batter, hit a double into right field.

Max Muncy hit an RBI single to right-center field that allowed Smith to come home and make the score 2-0.

Smith knocked in an RBI single to left field in the bottom of the third inning, allowing Trea Turner to score to give the Dodgers a 3-0 lead.

The Dodgers led 4-0 after Gavin Lux doubled into right field and Smith scored. Cody Bellinger got into the scoring with an RBI single on an error by the Padres' first baseman Wil Myers, and Muncy scored.

The Padres trailed the Dodgers 5-1 in the top of the fifth inning after Myers hit a solo home run over the left-center field wall.

The Padres Trent Grisham grounded out to Freddie Freeman at first base, and Jake Croneworth came home to make the score 5-2.

Austin Nola hit a sacrifice fly ball to left field, and Ha-Seong Kim tagged up and beat the throw to home plate by Trayce Thompson, and the Padres trail 5-3.

Evan Phillips came in the top of the sixth inning to replace Urias, who got off to a rocky start, and walked his first batter, Juan Soto.

The next batter Manny Machado hit a single to right field but got out of the jam by striking out Josh Bell, who replaced Brandon Drury. The Dodgers infield got Phillips out of a pitching jam as Myers hit into a double play to Lux and Turner to end the threat by the Padres.

"It's a tough one," Turner said. "It was a good play by Lux, and we got the job done."

Alex Vesia replaces Phillips in the top of the seventh inning, Brusdar Graterol in the eighth inning, and Chris Martin (S) in the ninth inning, all pitched four scoreless innings to close out the Padres.

"A lot of good players that are just not afraid of the moment. I trust them all," said Dodgers manager Dave Roberts of his bullpen. "Yeah, it's not kind of the standard or, whatever, conventional, but I feel confident in whoever we're going to run out there in the ninth inning."

Clayton Kershaw (12-3) will take the mound for the Dodgers in Game 2 of the NLDS, and Yu Darvish (16-8) for the Padres.
