Utah Routs Oregon 38-10 in Pac-12 Championship Game

LAS VEGAS, NV - The Utah Utes rank #14 in the nation, pounded #10 rank Oregon Ducks 38-10 in the Pac-12 Football Championship Conference Game at Allegiant Stadium.

Utah quarterback Cameron Rising threw the football 24 times, completing 15 of his passes for 170-yards, one touchdown, and two interceptions. Tavion Thomas led the Utes in rushing, carrying the ball 18 times for 68-yards and two touchdowns.

Anthony Brown completed 13 of his 24 passes for Oregon and had 147-yards passing. Travis Dye carried the football for the Ducks 15 times for 82-yards and one touchdown.

Utah finally got their biggest prize from winning the Pac-12 Football Conference Championship, a trip to the Rose Bowl Game in Pasadena.

"Certainly, it's a great feeling, and it's something we've been working toward for a long time," Utah's Head Coach Kyle Whittingham said. "We've been working away at it ever since we joined the league. This is the culmination of a lot of years of hard work and effort. … It's a history-making football team at Utah."

The Utes got on the scoreboard in the first quarter after their running back Tavion Thomas scored with a 3-yard touchdown, and the extra point was good, making the score 7-0.

The Utes added to their point total after Devon Lloyd (LB) intercepted a pass by Anthony Brown, and ran it back for a 34-yard touchdown, making the score 14-0.

Noah Sewell from Oregon, in the second quarter, made a defensive play by intercepting a pass by Rising. The Ducks were in field goal range, but their kicker Camden Lewis missed a 44-yard field goal.

The Ducks came up with their second interception when Verone McKinley (S) intercepted a tipped pass by Rising. The Utes led 20-0 with 27 seconds left before halftime after Rising threw an 11-yard touchdown pass to Dalton Kincaid.

Utah led at halftime 23-0 after Jadon Redding kicked a 50-yard field goal to end the quarter.

Oregon trailed Utah in the third inning when Camden Lewis kicked a 42-yard field goal making the score 23-3.

Utah increased their lead to 31-3 after a 4-yard touchdown run by TJ Pledger and the two-point conversion by Rising with 6:33 left in the quarter.

The Utes continued to add points on the scoreboard, in the fourth quarter led 38-3 with a 3-yard touchdown run by Thomas.

The Ducks got their first touchdown of the game with a 2-yard touchdown run by Travis Dye that made the final score 38-10. Utah has outscored Oregon in their two games this season, 76-17.
